Early spring doesn’t rush and it doesn’t bloom all at once. It doesn’t demand brilliance. It simply softens.
Lemon Honey Ricotta Toast with Fresh Berries is a simple spring recipe for soft boundaries.
It's light, bright and just enough.
Sometimes caring for yourself doesn’t look dramatic. It can be ten quiet minutes at the table with a small plate made just for you.
Not for guests or for performance. Not because you “should.”
But because you matter. 🍋
Lemon Honey Ricotta Toast Ingredients
* 2 slices rustic sourdough or whole grain bread
• ½ cup whole milk ricotta • Zest of ½ lemon
• 1–2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
• 1–2 teaspoons raw honey • Fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries)
• Optional: pinch of flaky sea salt or fresh mint
Instructions 1
1. Toast the bread until golden and crisp.
2. In a small bowl, stir together ricotta, lemon zest, and a squeeze of lemon juice.
3. Spread generously over warm toast.
4. Drizzle lightly with honey.
5. Top with fresh berries.
6. Finish with a tiny pinch of sea salt if desired.
Serve warm. Sit down while you eat it.
This isn’t just about toast. It’s about balance. Lemon is bright but not harsh.
Honey is sweet but not overwhelming.
Ricotta is soft but grounded.
Soft boundaries are like that.
They aren’t sharp or defensive. They don’t push people away.
They simply say: This is enough.
Early spring is a good time to practice that. Not every request needs a yes. Not every emotion in the room belongs to you. Not every burden needs your shoulders.
Soft boundaries are an honoring of the heart that carries it.
When you guard your heart wisely, you love from steadier ground.
“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” — Proverbs 4:23
Early spring reminds us that growth doesn’t begin with force. It begins with protection. With tending. With care.
And sometimes, it begins with toast.
With warmth from my kitchen to yours.
