There’s something sacred about the way bread rises when we stop rushing. Maybe that’s why fall feels like an exhale — it reminds us that the best things take time. While the kitchen fills with maple and spice, the quiet has a way of settling in too.
Here is a maple-glazed harvest bread recipe.
Recipe Card:
Maple-Glazed Harvest Bread
Serves 8 | Prep 15 min | Bake 45 min
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
½ cup melted butter
¾ cup pure maple syrup
2 eggs
½ cup milk
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a loaf pan.
In a bowl, whisk dry ingredients.
In another, combine butter, syrup, eggs, and milk.
Stir together just until blended.
Pour into pan and bake 45–50 minutes.
Drizzle warm bread with a simple glaze (powdered sugar + maple syrup).
Add 1/2 cup of nuts or coconut if you want. It will only make it tastier.
Porch Light Note:
Bread takes its time — and so should you. Slow down. Let your heart rise gently with the rhythm of the oven.
