Three spring smoothie recipes on a kitchen counter by a window, featuring berry, green, and mango smoothies in soft natural light

There are times when the tone of someone's voice, a look, a surfacing memory hits us in when we don't expect it--

and suddenly, our body feels more out of sorts than the moment itself.

The chest tightens.

Thoughts race.

Or maybe everything in you just deflates or is on edge.

It’s easy to react or overthink. But reminding ourselves that this is simply our body remembering old stuff.

And this week, instead of trying to fix that feeling,

I want to encourage you to practice something quieter:

Try noticing what your body might need, and that can be as simple as choosing something that supports how you feel—

something grounding, calming, or gently energizing.

So today in the Porch Light Kitchen, we’re keeping it light and simple with a trio of my favorite spring smoothie recipes that will meet you where you are.

Spring Smoothie Trio: 3 easy recipes for energy, calm, and balance.

The Grounding Berry Blend

When emotions feel big and you need steadiness

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup frozen mixed berries

  • ½ banana

  • ½ cup Greek yogurt (or dairy-free)

  • ½–1 cup almond milk

  • Optional: 1 tbsp chia seeds

Blend until smooth.

The Calm & Clear Green Smoothie

When your mind feels overstimulated

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fresh spinach

  • 1 green apple (chopped)

  • ½ cucumber

  • Juice of ½ lemon

  • 1 cup coconut water

Blend until light and smooth.

The Gentle Energy Mango Blend

When you feel depleted or foggy

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup frozen mango

  • ½ cup pineapple

  • ½ cup orange juice

  • ½ cup yogurt or protein powder

Blend until creamy and bright.

I hope you enjoy these favorites of mine.

Take a Moment

Sometimes the most healing thing is learning to respond differently to these stressors.

Instead of pushing past what you feel, what would it look like to pause and ask:

“What does my body need right now?”

Not perfection.

Not productivity.

Just a small act of care.

Today, can you notice without rushing to fix?

And offer yourself something gentle in return?
